Transportation

Bus Transportation

Yellow Bus service is available to most Elementary and Junior High students not within walking distance. The preferred method of transportation for Division III & IV students is ETS.

EDMONTON TRANSIT ARC Cards

ETS passes (Arc cards) are available at a subsidized price through your child’s school, as long as they aren’t provided with other subsidized transportation.

Students must pay the full monthly fee, even if:

  • they don’t ride the bus every day
  • they pay for the pass mid-month

If you need help paying bus pass fees, the City of Edmonton’s Ride Transit Program offers lower-cost ETS bus passes for eligible low-income Edmontonians. Learn about eligibility and how to apply for the program.

Arc cards are now being used at Division schools. Instead of showing a paper pass to the driver, students will use their Arc card to tap on and tap off ETS buses. The card acts as a permanent bus pass during the school year as long as the monthly pass fee is paid.

You must pay your monthly fees through the school to get the subsidized student rate. Please contact the shcool office to have the monthly rate added to your parent schoolzone account.

GETTING AN ARC CARD

Students who are taking ETS to school for the first time will get an Arc card from the school office at the beginning of the year. Monthly bus pass fees must be paid in order for the card to work.

Students who already have an Arc card will continue to use it. You will not get a new card unless the original is lost or damaged.

USING AN ETS BUS PASS (Arc card)

ETS student bus passes allow unlimited travel with Edmonton Transit Service during the school year, including during statutory holidays.

Dropping Off Students at Our Elementary/Junior High Site

For the safety of all the children of the Academy, we would like to request that parents NOT drop off or pick up children at the front of the school.

We would also like to suggest that parents NOT drop their children off in the bus zone which is on the south side of the school. This side of the building needs to be free of cars from 8:15-8:50 a.m. and again at the end of the day from 2:55-3:25 to facilitate easy pick-up and drop off of the numerous students who ride the yellow school busses.

The safest place to drop off is the north side of the building on the street as there is an access point for students to go directly on to the playground where there are supervisors.

PLEASE use caution and consideration when dropping off or picking up students!
